Her birth date was the 29th of March, 1985 in Roswell New Mexico. Her given name was Gerina Mendoza. Gerina Stevenson was born in Mexico in the family of Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. She is American and is of Mexican American heritage. At a very young age, her desire to be involved in sports was evident. Gerina started playing golf at the age of 15 years old. Gerina attended Goddard High School for her higher education in high school. She won the New Mexico State Golf Tournament at the age of high school. A volleyball player, she also competed in state competitions. She attended the University of Texas in 2003. In her senior year she was a winner of every tournament she entered. During her college career, she received the Conference USA Player of The Year Award as well as the Female UTEP Sports Athlete Award.
