Adams was raised in Italy and her father was with the U.S. military and she lived within Castle Rock Colorado as one of seven children. Mid-1990s, she started professional dancing and performed at the Boulder Dinner Theatre in Colorado and Country Dinner Playhouse. Then she moved to Minnesota where she was scouted for Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentarian film about beauty contests. Her screen debut was as the bright, beautiful contestant. After that the move to Los Angeles in order to make a name for herself as an actress. Leigh started her career in film after signing a MGM deal in the middle of 1940s. The actress was discovered through actress Norma Shearer. She starred in a number of cult films over the next decade, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from the year 1960) as well as Living It Up (1954) with Martin Lewis.
